An Optimized Forage Mixer For Optimized Herd Health
Farm Master forage mixers are designed to be not only the most cost effective TMR (Total Mixed Ration) feed mixers in the industry, but are built to last and reduce downtime for repair. Engineered with a minimum number of moving parts and high-efficiency electric motors, these mixers have a horizontal rotating drum instead of internal mixing paddles and use nature’s most powerful force – gravity – as part of the process in mixing.
In addition to having low horsepower and energy requirements, these mixers are among the easiest equipment to maintain on the farm.
Feed ingredients are added through the front of the hopper and move to the back via gravity, where they are picked up and deposited into the auger. With the discharge door closed, the material is carried to the front and dropped back into the hopper where the process repeats for an efficient and effective feed mixing process. Feed can be mixed in 3 to 5 minutes, and these mixers can be loaded while operating or prior to operating.

Our Forage Mixers are equipped with a heavy-duty mixing auger that ensures a thorough and even blend of all ingredients. The mixer is designed to be durable and reliable, with a sturdy frame and a powerful electric motor that can handle the demands of daily use.
- Passive ribs disturb the outside of the feed load, creating a secondary mixing action.
- A super strong, quiet synthetic idler for the main drive chain is fully adjustable, while the drum drive utilizes a spring-loaded idler. All bearings have grease fittings for maintenance.
- Balance in the mixing process is accomplished in a simple, effective manner. A sliding cover on the end of the auger allows more or less forage to enter the auger.
- Balance adjustment is made with an intuitive lever at the front of the unit.
- Standard on each model are magnets on the chute and an efficient, easy to operate, manual discharge door.
- Lubricating the drum rollers is done remotely from the front.
- Maintenance and repair is minimized with impressive 3/8" sectional flighting in the rear 27", forward of that, 3/8" helicoids cupped flighting is used.
- Optional: Add scales with a digital readout that can monitor not only the total weight of your feed, but provide guidance as you are adding vitamins and minerals. The digital readout can be mounted remotely on a nearby wall, and four weigh bars are mounted under the unit at each corner. Scales add 4¾" to the unit’s overall height.

Frequently Asked Questions About Farm Master Forage Mixers
Our mixers are made to be mostly self-cleaning at the end of every batch!
Periodic cleaning of the auger trough is a good idea, particularly when using damp feed products regularly, and this is done easily through the augur trough access door.
Our forage mixers can range in size from about 8 feet to 16 feet in length, and 6 feet to 10 feet in height. Our smallest mixer (the FB98) has a drum volume of 98 cubic feet, and our largest is 640 cubic feet in size! Our model selection chart (and an informative conversation with our sales team) can help you decide what forage mixer would be best for your operation.
With Farm Master feed mixers, you can mix up to 10% molasses in any forage. Our mixers are built to accommodate this extra weight and viscosity! Our mixer drum has very minimal build-up when using molasses, though our augur will require periodic cleaning through two access covers on the grain mixer.
Our prices fluctuate based on the cost of our inputs, but we strive to maintain competitive prices for small and large farmers alike. We started out serving small and hobby farmers, and we want to continue service every farm we can, no matter your size or revenue.
Our feed mixers are perfect for most silage and grain products or nutrients.
Some longer feed, like long stem hay-lage, may not be ideal for use in our mixer given that it relies on an auger mechanism. This is common among auger-based feed mixers.
